      Hi gkane!

Good question! There used to be a few tour operators and car rental agencies that offered that service, but it’s not really popular anymore, mainly because the roads between La Fortuna and Monteverde aren’t that bad nowadays so most people opt to make the drive themselves. Quick question: what do you mean when you say “experience Lake Arenal?” If you drive around the lake from Monteverde to La Fortuna, you’ll see the lake at various places, and there are restaurants you can stop at along the way that provide beautiful lake views. If you mean you’d like to experience the lake by boat, there are boat tours that you can take to/from La Fortuna, so the van-boat-van service from Monteverde isn’t your only option to participate in this activity. 🙂

      Pura vida!
