KeymasterHi Jennifer!
Quick question: when you say chilies, do you mean only spicy peppers, or sweet peppers (like bell peppers) too? Generally, Costa Rican food isn’t spicy, so you should be able to find lots of meals that don’t contain spicy peppers. (Of course, it would be best to verify with the chef/restaurant staff if any meal you plan to eat contains spicy peppers.) Sweet peppers are used often, though, so it will be harder to find meals without these if you’re allergic to them too. As a heads up, gallo pinto (the typical Costa Rican breakfast) often includes sweet peppers.

KeymasterHi Amanda!
Quick question: Do you mean San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, or did you mean to ask for San Jose, Costa Rica?

KeymasterHi Sam!
There are (the Balsa River Rafting Tour, the Tarcoles River Boat Tour, and the Carara National Park Tour) but they may not be up and running again yet by the time you plan to travel. Due to Covid, several tour operators have temporarily suspended some or all of their tours, so I can’t say for sure whether they’ll be available for your trip if the pandemic is ongoing.

KeymasterHi Sharon!
You’re welcome to enter Costa Rica with walking sticks, but I’m not sure if your airline will allow you to take them. You may need to check them if they’re not retractable and able to fit in your luggage. I’d recommend reaching out to the airline you intend to fly with to have them confirm whether you can fly with them. 🙂

KeymasterHey Richard!
This is a legitimate concern! Fortunately, you shouldn’t have any problem in January. That month is part of the high/busy season, and I can almost guarantee that there will be other travelers aboard the shuttle with you. 🙂
Pura vida!
