A LITTLE LUXURY NEVER HURT ANYONE…
Who wants to feel spoiled while on vacation? We do!
Ok, truth be told, Ricky and I are humble travellers. We have both bunked in with buddies at hostels and have soaked in the finer amenities offered by all-inclusive resorts. We have learned firsthand what differentiates economy, standard, and superior hotels, and we know that we do not need one particular upgrade over another in order to enjoy an accommodation experience. Since we have found comfort and security at countless hotels (ranging in price), we tend to travel on a budget. Regardless of whether or not we need to, we choose to do so in order to spend our money on the things that matter to us the most. When it comes to travel, it is our preference to prioritize participation in tours and activities over accommodations, so we rarely dedicate a large chunk of a trip budget to where we sleep at night. In fact, throughout our travels (and in life), Ricky and I are most often the happiest with the basics.
But let’s be honest. Every once and a while we need to treat ourselves. Isn’t that the point of most vacations anyway? To cheat on our busy, hectic, overwhelming, stressful, difficult, demanding lives for a few days (or weeks, if you’re lucky)? Sometimes we just need to delve into luxury to remind ourselves of that which we work so hard for the rest of the year, no? If you agree, you’re in luck; have we got a great recommendation for you.
ROYAL CORIN: LA FORTUNA’S UPSCALE RESORT-QUALITY HOTEL
When it comes to modernity and class in La Fortuna, our vote goes to Royal Corin (don’t miss our Costa Rica Hotel Recommendations Series: Where To Stay In La Fortuna/Arenal for additional hotel recommendations according to different accommodation types). Even the hotel’s name sounds luxurious, and fortunately, the title does the hotel justice as guests are treated like royalty from the moment they arrive. If a welcome cocktail, superior service, and high quality room amenities are not enough, just wait until you spend the day relaxing in the hotel’s on-site hot springs with a clear view of the Arenal Volcano directly in front of you (don’t miss the hotel’s secluded jacuzzis hidden away from the primary pools, as well as the hotel’s sauna/steam room). Accommodations in La Fortuna simply do not get more relaxing and exclusive than this upscale resort-quality hotel.
Royal Corin’s design is modern chic. Clean, contemporary, and classy. Beyond this, the atmosphere is calming and inviting. Upon our most recent visit, Ricky and I couldn’t help but feel deserving of our stay. Not in a pretentious way of course, but the hotel makes it easy for guests to simply sit back and enjoy the entire experience, merely inviting travellers to reap the rewards of the nightly stay they have earned. Looking for the wow factor? Not only can this hotel check off just about every item you have on your accommodations wishlist, but its onsite hot springs come complete with in-pool stone lounge chairs and tables. That’s right. As if a good soak in the hot springs at the base of the volcano (yet, steps from your room) was not convenient and comforting enough, you can stretch out on your own lounge chair, soaking up the sun’s rays above you and sipping on a cold one beside you all at once.
If you ever get the chance to travel to Costa Rica and you are looking for luxury in the La Fortuna/Arenal area of the country, Royal Corin is the best option available. Not only is the hotel located just outside of the downtown La Fortuna core, but it is close to many of the popular activities (such as ziplining, hanging bridges, volcano tours, etc.) that draw travellers to the destination in the first place. While the La Fortuna/Arenal area is flooded with great accommodation options ranging in style, size, and price, Royal Corin is the cornerstone of lavishness–ideal for honeymooners, couples, and travellers who regularly appreciate (or would like to treat themselves to) an opulent accommodation experience. Pure indulgence at its finest.
