IMPORTANT: This article is part of our Memorable Costa Rica series.

The revered Latin American female writer Isabel Allende once advised: “Write what should not be forgotten.” Inspired by the quote’s brevity and the subject matter of lasting significance, the articles in our Memorable Costa Rica series are concise and highlight what we feel are the most memorable aspects of featured Costa Rica experiences. If you don’t want to waste time rereading the repeated facts and long-drawn-out paraphrased summaries that some other Costa Rica resources offer, then the personal briefs in our Memorable Costa Rica series are perfect for you. Use them to discover the unique qualities and unforgettable moments that we believe each Costa Rica experience provides, so you can easily decide which experiences are worth incorporating into your trip, and in only five minutes or less. 👍🏽

Arenal Springs Resort & Spa Brief

There’s a lot to love about the sprawling, family-friendly Arenal Springs Resort & Spa (not to be confused with The Springs Resort & Spa, a similarly named Arenal hotel that’s also easy to love). The warm, inviting junior suites are set in duplexes that are perfect for sharing with travel mates, and each one has a covered front porch with seating and a view of the Arenal Volcano. (The spacious master suite, which has an in-suite thermal-water stone bath, is a splurge-worthy upgrade.) The bathrooms bring natural outdoor elements inside through the use of stone walls, skylights, and tropical plants. We particularly love the private parking spots in front of the duplexes (you’ll love not having to tow your luggage to and from your room), the property’s gardens that draw in a variety of tropical birds, and the resort’s beautiful hot springs, where poolside cabanas invite relaxation, and a swim-up sushi bar saves you from traveling far when hunger strikes. A lovely dining experience is provided in the elegant but casual restaurant; elsewhere on the premises are a spa and an open-air yoga desk, the latter of which you can use at your leisure. Rounding out our always-positive experiences at the resort are the complimentary buffet breakfast and the friendly service that the staff provide; both are above average for superior-quality lodging in the Arenal region. Take note of the resort’s lofty sustainability goals and the many active steps they’re taking to meet them.

I may have missed it but just wondering if you were able to work a discount with this place, too? I saw the others on the website, but did not see this one listed. Looks great, and I really appreciate all the helpful description of these places! Can’t wait to get to CR and experience it for myself!
