Currency! as much more general use of the word currency is anything that is used in any circumstances, as a medium of exchange. In this use, “currency” is a synonym for the concept of money.

Great info. Thanks for sharing. I was in San Jose, Cartago, and Turrialba in June/July 2014. Wish I had your info before I got there – it would have made it so much easier. The “Multiply x 2” rule makes it pretty simple. Will be checking out your other tips too. Many thanks!
