That is such a touching comment! If she is anything like the elderly Ticas I know, she likely smiled all of the time and embodied the qualities of a strong, family-oriented, independent woman. It is great to hear that you are thinking of taking up blogging! Depending on what you plan to write about, it can be a lot like keeping a journal (except your journal’s pages are posted online for the world to read). As for the time commitment, you will get out of blogging more than you put into it, so the amount of time required for upkeep will depend entirely on that which you strive to obtain from the experience. If you wish to write for cathartic purposes, you may find that you will only write/post when you feel the need to do so. On the other hand, if you aim to write/post for a particular purpose, such as to develop a rapport/relationship with fellow bloggers and/or to provide readers with worthwhile information that they cannot locate elsewhere, you may find yourself wanting to write on a more frequent basis. Bottom line, write only when you want to write. If this is every day, then the time commitment will be great but so too will be the reward. If you find yourself writing to keep up with a schedule and not because you have something important that you’re longing to say, then the time commitment should be less. Our best advice? Write every day that you’re happy doing so, and not a day more. 🙂
